I love dairy products. I grew up lactose intolerant and just recently (miraculously?) overcame my disfunction after a life of calcium supplements and one-too-many charges for soy lattes. Now, I have a string cheese obsession (that stuff is amazing!) and eat yogurt every morning.
Also, ice cream.

Forget the lasagna for dinner, and let’s skip straight to dessert. Churn‘s mint ice cream has changed my life, and really trust me, I’m not much of a sweets girl.
But if I’m dealing with the trivial drama 21-year-old young women do, or am out getting mani-pedi’s with grandma, I don’t know how else to respond then at Churn. It’s an adorable parlor in North Phoenix with a candy wall, old-school toys, marble floor tiles, and workers who seem to be on a sugar rush just from the sweet air.
The ice cream is fantastic– I think I’ve sampled just about every flavor, although I’ve never veered from my single scoop of cookies and mint on a waffle cone. But the ingredients are all-natural and made on-site; smooth, creamy, and just like my mama makes.
The perks of this place too, is that we eat ice cream in Phoenix year-round. When was the last time it was too cold here for ice cream? That’s a trick question, by the way.
So next time you’re in Phoenix for spring training, to escape a snow storm at home, or just because Phoenix is cool now, treat yourself.
Fin.
